Hear From Any Colleges Yet?

There are a lot of people on here, so I'm sure there must be a few high-school seneors applying for college next year. So,, hear anything yet? I got a letter of acceptance from the state school at Albany this week which I was pretty happy about since it's my first one. And I also got a letter from Fordham University saying my aplication's been deferred from the early-action to the regular-decision pool. So at least they didn't reject me. Now I just have to send in my fall semester grades and my Act and Sat 2 scores and see what happens. How about you?

Ok I just graduated this past June and I'm unsure of what schools have my major which is to study medical transcription. I've called a few schools and they all say they don't have it. The only way I'll find a good school is if I travel somewhere out of state and I don't wanna do that. Don't know if my family will except that either. So, I'm stuck for now, until I can kick some butts and find me a decent school for goodness sake.

wow, good luck you 2. I am a freshmen now in high school. yes, very young, however, i like to have everything planed out, cause umm thats just the way i am. The college i hope/hoped to go to is/was Gallaudet. yes, its a deaf college and now i am not deaf. Gallaudet has a great interpreting program that i want to attend as i really want to be an american sign language interpreter and i have wanted to be for about 5 years now. however, since my site is decreasing i may have to change my plans :( and fallow a new dream... i still dunno what i want to do or what college i want to go to. i know i want to go some where far though, to get away from the family. lol

cmitchell and krisme, what are your majors?

Okay well now I feel really stupid, because I'm a freshman too, and I don't know what I want to do at all! Lol! Hehehe. I love to read, write, sing, be with people, socialize, listen to music, lots of stuff. But I don't know where I might go. I've thought author, singer, DJ, teacher ... but those are all kind of small jobs, except teacher. So I don't know yet. Lol. Caitlin

Yeah Caitlin, it's ok. I'm a seneor and still really don't have a path in life. And I recently heard from Loyola. Got deferred from there too. Guess I'll just have to wait till April and pray for good midterm grades.

<P>When I heard Seton Hall, I thought Elizabeth Anne Seton, one of the first American saints ... right? I'm assuming since it's a Catholic university, that's probably who they named it after.

I just sent in 3 of my aplications on Friday, and will be submitting a fourth today. Then I will do one more, and likely be done except for the waiting. I really will be interested to see which ones want me. I'm putting one into MIT, University of Wisconsin, Carnegie Mellon, Rotchester Institute of Tech, and University of Minnesota. I'll be going in either as a Information Systems or Computer Science major. lol Any idea anyone how long colleges usually take to get back to you? When did you guys that have heard send yours in?

Hey Prissy, congrats. Seton Hall's a pretty good school. My cousin just got accepted there. And I just heard from Suny Stoneybrook. I got accepted, but I don't really want to go there. Although it's a good school, it's also a commuter school and the campus is huge. Plus, it's a little too close to home.

I'd like to visit some colleges soon, and see what htey're like. Then maybe I can get going on my decision making. heh!

Huge news on the college front this week. On Tuesday, I found out I got into Hofstra, a local school. And yesterday, i heard from Manhatanville, one of my favorites. I got in, plus they're giving me a $9000 per year scholarship. So far, they're in the lead for College I might Go To.

I also have news. I've received my first college acceptance. Rotchester Institute of Tech in NY has said they'll take me. I'm not sure I'll go there; I'm still waiting on at least 2 other colleges to get back to me. But that's a start.

Good news. Got accepted to Catholic University of America today and they're giving me $600 a year. It's in Washington D.C and my best friend just got accepted there too, though she's not sure if she'll go. Still waiting on Fordham, Loyola, BC, and Swarthmore.

Post 19 by krisme (Ancient Zoner) on Friday, 01-Apr-2005 11:38:01

In the past two days I've had my first and second college rejections. On Wednesday it was Swarthmore, which I was kind of expecting, and yesterday it was Boston College, which I should've expected but was surprised at anyway. Manhatanville is still in the lead. I should hear from my last two schools, Fordham and Loyola of Maryland, within the next few days.

Post 20 by Flidais (WISEST IS SHE WHO KNOWS THAT SHE DOES NOT KNOW) on Friday, 01-Apr-2005 19:51:49

haha I'm stupid I started out at UC Berkeley when I was offered a full ride to USC (university of southern cali) and I hated Berkeley so now I'm waiting to hear from USC since I reapplied as a transfer. so a word of wisdom, think carefully before you pick which school you wanna go to. Don't pass up a full ride like me.

Post 21 by Susanne (move over school!) on Friday, 01-Apr-2005 21:27:30

I know this doesn't technically belong here, since I'm not a high school senior, but I just got accepted to do my PhD at the University of Toronto. I'm really excited, so I thought I'd share the news anyway *smile*

Post 22 by krisme (Ancient Zoner) on Saturday, 02-Apr-2005 14:29:01

It counts anyway, so good for you Suzanne. And the rest of my schools came in today. I got rejected from Fordham and wait-listed from Loyola, so that upset me somewhat. So now the two schools I'm really considering are Catholic U and Mahatanville, with MVille still in the lead. I'll let you know when I've made my final decision.

I know this is an old post but I applied early decision to Oberlin about a month ago and just today heard that I got in. I'm a little too shocked to be insanely excited or anything - I'm glad that the whole college process is over and I'm going to be going somewhere I really enjoyed visiting. I wish everyone else caught up in the colege bs a good ime.
